  • Handgun Practice Sessions
    In 2017 our volunteers will once again offer our monthly handgun basics sessions with supervised shooting practice for men and women age 18 and up. New dates from April through October and details are included in the downloadable flyer.

    ASC is proud to offer these special events through our member volunteers. We are open all year long and nonmembers are welcome at many of our activities.

    Friday, August 11

    5:00pm Friday Night Shotgun Shoot - Includes rounds of trap, double trap, 5-stand or skeet, plus food and beverage with additional rounds at member/nonmember rates. Everyone welcome. Bring: shotgun, at least 100 target load lead or steel shells (no hunting or defense loads) and eye and ear protection. Start any time between 5:00 pm and 9:30 pm. Food available at 6:30 pm. To help us plan, please preregister individuals and groups by email to ShotgunSports@aurorasc.org. Walk-ins welcome.

    Saturday, August 12

    8:00 am ASC Bullseye League. NRA approved outdoor conventional pistol league. New and junior shooters welcome, too. http://www.aurorasc.org/disciplines/rifle-pistol/pistol-matches

    8:00am Practical Precision Rifle - Long range shooting competition to test your rifle marksmanship as you manage various barricades and obstacles from 100-600 yards. Spectators are welcome with eye and ear protection. Action Shooting Sports website www.aurorascpr.org

    8:00am Free Holster Draw Clinic for current members and anyone who is thinking about joining. Meet in the main office area. Get certified to practice drawing from a holster. (Dry fire only.) Preregistration is required by message to GroupEvents@aurorasc.org. No walk-ins please.

    9:00 am Trap, Skeet & 5-Stand - You don’t have to be a member to play. Shotgun games are social and our shooters are friendly. It’s okay if you’re a novice; we don’t mind helping you learn. Fields are staffed Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 4pm. More information here http://www.aurorasc.org/disciplines/shotgun

    9:00 am Prospective Member Facility Tours - Volunteers will show you around our 250+ acres of outdoor sports facility. Where else can you do it all: trap, skeet, 5-stand, rifle, pistol, archery, fishing and sporting clays!     10:00 am IDPA Skill Drills - This is a non-competitive, timed practice shoot with center fire pistols, drawn from the holster. It is made up of a series of short scenarios, usually 6 to 12 shots with one magazine change, shot from a standing position. A squad of eight or more will shoot at the same time so everybody gets lots of practice. If you’re thinking about shooting IDPA matches this is a great place to start.     8:00 am 3-Gun – (SOLD OUT) One of the action shooting sports where competitors transition between a modern sporting rifle (MSR),  a pistol, and a shotgun. Participants move through different stages and engage targets in a variety of positions. Spectators with eye/ear protection are welcome.

    9:00am Open Shooting Sporting Clays Course – Open to the public at member rates. Start times from 9am until 1pm. Bring eye/ear protection, a shotgun and 100 target load shells.     8:00am Practical Rifle - Fast-paced stages with paper and steel targets, shooting from different positions (standing, kneeling, sitting, prone, etc.) This shooting competition will test your marksmanship.     8:30am Muzzleloading Shoot - Casual match at 25 yards, open for re-entry (as many targets as you would like to shoot). Members, nonmembers and spectators welcome with eye and ear protection. Come learn a thing or two about smoke sticks! http://www.aurorasc.org/disciplines/muzzle-loading

  • Youth Programs
    The Aurora Sportsmen's Club is pleased to offer young shooters (ages 10-17) the opportunity to develop their shooting skills and start or make progress on Winchester/NRA Marksmanship qualification programs in Pistol, Rifle or Shotgun disciplines. 

    These programs can be used by all scouting programs to make progress and complete requirements for their Archery and Shooting Sports awards and badges.  This includes, but is not limited to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, American Heritage Girls and Trail Life.  Please bring your records of completed prerequisites if you have them.

    All ASC Youth programs are open to the public.  Details and flyers for 2017 programs are available by clicking here.

  • New Member Orientation and Enrollment
    Orientations are scheduled each month on the second Saturday at 10:00 AM, fourth Sunday at 2:00 PM in 2016 with the exception of May and December. A tour of the Club will be available one hour prior to the Orientation. Click on the Membership tab to see what you need to bring with you.

    There are lots of Shotgun Sports classes, clinics and special events scheduled. More details are in the attached file and on the Shotgun Sports tab on the left side of your screen.
    Check the Shotgun page (click on the tab at the left) for fees, days and hours open. Trap, Skeet, 5-Stand and Sporting Clays are open to members and their guests every day, all year long, self-service.

  • IDPA Monthly Pistol Match and Skills Drills

    Times and dates are listed on the Club Calendar. All are open to the public. The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) events simulate self-defense scenarios and real life encounters. Geared toward the new or average shooter, they are fun, challenging and rewarding.
