Rifle/Pistol

General Information

Looking for opportunities to regularly shoot with a friendly group of people? Then come out and join the Aurora Sportsmen's Club Rifle & Pistol department for supervised practice and competitive matches. These events are open to the public and are held rain or shine. Click on the tabs at the left for details about:

Benchrest Rifle Matches

Pistol Matches: NRA Bullseye, Camp Perry Warmup, 1800 Open Division, Black Powder Revolver Bullseye

IDPA (International Defense Pistol Association) Matches

IDPA Skills Drills (Practice Sessions)

We hold matches for juniors and adults, as well as “A” class and “B” class flights to support shooters of equal abilities. We are not really competing against each other—just looking for a forum where we can come together each month to have fun and show that we are improving.

All you need to bring is your own shooting equipment and the right attitude. There are minimal attendance and match fees; the targets appropriate for each event are provided by the Rifle and Pistol Department.

Military Surplus Rifle Maintenance Class

Disassembly/cleaning/reassembly class for Springfield 1903, Mosin Nagant, Mauser K98k, and Enfield bolt action milsurp rifles.

March 24, 2018 beginning at 11:00 am at the Clinton Township Community Center. Open to the public. ASC Volunteer staff will walk you through how to care for your WWII rifles. The class will be held at the Clinton Township Community Center in downtown Waterman, IL.

Don’t have a rifle but want to come anyway and learn a thing or two? You’ll be welcome.

We provide: cleaning rod, paper towels, Hoppe#9, patches, screw drivers, etc. for all to share. Please feel free to bring your own supplies, too.

To sign up, contact Dan at rosso4re@aol.com or call 815 836-3528 and let us know you're coming.
