Classroom instruction in basic firearms safety with an opportunity to participate in live-fire exercises, if you choose. NRA-certified instructors provide a professional yet relaxed environment. Attendees meet at 7858 Preserve Road, Waterman, IL 60556.

  • FOID CARDS NOT REQUIRED FOR CLASS ATTENDANCE
  • Dress for outdoor conditions with flat, closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing.
  • Bring eye and ear protection for shooting if you have it.

FREE: ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES

HUNTER SAFETY AND EDUCATION CLASS - 2-DAY Sessions

Classes are presented by the Education Department of Aurora Sportsmen’s Club.
 
These IDNR Hunter Safety Classes are the required training to obtain an Illinois hunting license. Students who pass will receive a Hunter Safety/Education Card honored throughout the United States.

Regular Classes: There is one in March and one in August. Each is a two-day session. Students must attend both days of Class 1 or Class 2.

        Class 1: March 11th & March 18th, 2018
        Class 2: August 11th & August 18th, 2018

Please arrive by 11:30 AM to complete State paperwork so the class can begin promptly for a 6:00 PM dismissal.
        
                                    Field Day Session:  Students must complete the on-line portion of the                                             course before attending the Field Day.

                                        July 21, 2018 8:00am to 6:00pm
       
Students must attend both days of the March or August 2-day sessions, pass a written exam at the end of the second day and demonstrate the appropriate classroom behavior/attitude in order to earn the Hunter Safety Card and patch.

Students attending the Field Day must attend the entire class, pass the tests and demonstrate the appropriate classroom behavior/attitude in order to earn the Hunter Safety Card and patch.

Students younger than ten years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who must remain with the student for the entire class time both days.  Parents or guardians may not assist their student in any way with the exam.

All attendees should bring black ink pen, notepad, beverage and lunch/snack. There is no charge for attendance at the ASC classes.

Preregistration is required. Register by providing the name and age of the registrant via an email message to asceducationdept@gmail.com  Space is limited.

Classes will be held at the Clinton Township Community Center, 160 Lincoln Highway (Rt 30), Waterman, IL.
